The Learning & Development (L&D) Coordinator will primarily work with the Learning and Development Team, Learners and Subject Matter Experts in running, recording and improving our online and short courses.

As a Learning and Development Coordinator at CIRO, you will be integral to supporting our educational initiatives across the company’s wide spectrum of learning opportunities. Your focus will be assisting in the development of short courses and online programmes. This role presents a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in instructional design, course development, and educational administration within the railway sector.

This role will also offer the opportunity for cross-departmental collaboration with other areas of the business such as Marketing and Business Development. You will play a crucial role in supporting our marketing efforts to engage current members and learners and attract new ones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Course Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop curriculum outlines, learning objectives, and instructional materials for short courses and online programmes.
  • Content Creation: Assist in creating engaging and interactive course content, including presentations, videos, quizzes, and other multimedia assets. Support the development in engaging content for social media platforms, email newsletters, website updates, and promotional materials.
  • Learning Platform Management: Support the administration of our learning management system (LMS), including course enrolment, user management, and content uploads.
  • Quality Assurance: Working with Subject Matter Experts to conduct quality checks on course materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with learning objectives and industry currency.
  • Participant Support: Provide assistance to course participants by responding to inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues, and facilitating a productive learning experience.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Assist in collecting and analysing feedback from course participants to evaluate programme effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Market Research: Conduct research to identify trends, industry insights, and competitor strategies to inform marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Event Support: Provide support in organising and promoting events, including workshops, webinars, conferences, and member events.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Membership, Marketing and Business Development.

Person Requirements

  • Any degree discipline considered
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Interest in the railway industry and a passion for learning and development.
  • A preferred, but not essential requirement - familiarity with learning management systems (LMS)
