Medicine, midwifery and children’s nursing courses ranked in UK top 10
Medicine, midwifery, and children’s nursing courses at Keele have been ranked in the UK top 10 for student positivity in the 2023 National Student Survey (NSS).
Final year students rated teaching, academic support, and learning opportunities very highly across the subject areas, with medicine ranked 5th, midwifery 6th and children’s nursing 9th.
Professor Pauline Walsh, Executive Dean of Medicine and Health Sciences, said: “These results are very encouraging and reflect the hard work and brilliance of both our staff and students, and the entire university community.
“One of our top priorities is to make sure we give our students everything they need to go on to have successful careers and make a difference to society once they leave Keele. Our courses offer students the chance to do just that, by providing a diverse range of learning experiences.”
Feedback submitted for the NSS 2023 has seen Keele students praise a variety of factors related to teaching, support, and resources at Keele, with library resources and learning spaces scoring a 91% positivity rate, in addition to 90% of students being positive with how teaching staff explain things.
The NSS is a high-profile annual survey of nearly half a million final year undergraduate students across the UK. The survey gathers opinions from students about their time in higher education, asking them to provide honest feedback on what it has been like to study on their course at their university or college.
