Family fun day to celebrate 75th anniversary
UPDATE: Due to the ongoing pause in flying for the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight after the tragic accident in Lincolnshire on 25 May 2024, unfortunately the flyby will no longer take place as part of Keele Day. We apologise for any inconvenience, and hope you enjoy the wide variety of other activities taking place on campus during the day.

An RAF flyby from a Lancaster Bomber will form the centrepiece of this year’s Keele Day celebrations at Keele University.
In the same year the university celebrates its 75th anniversary, a 'Battle of Britain Memorial Flight' Lancaster Bomber will be making a flyby of Keele’s campus on Saturday 29th June, as part of the university’s annual day of celebrations and family activities held on campus.
The event is held every summer to celebrate Keele’s past, present and future role in the community, with this year’s event promising to be extra special in the university’s 75th anniversary year.
All are welcome to come along to the free event on campus full of family activities, live music, food and drink, and much more, with highlights including arts and crafts sessions aimed at both children and adults, a chance to break out of a specially themed escape room at Keele Hall, and “have a go” sessions in sports and science.
Professor Trevor McMillan OBE, Vice-Chancellor of Keele University, said: “As we celebrate our 75th anniversary this year, I’m reminded that we were established to have a positive impact on society through our teaching and research.
“Every year, Keele Day is an excellent opportunity to celebrate that link, and our role within the local area with members of the communities we serve. I’m excited to welcome everyone to campus and this year, the Lancaster Bomber flyby will be a spectacular addition to an already exciting day.”
Keele Day runs between 11am and 4pm on Saturday 29th June 2024, and the flyby is currently scheduled for 15:25, with the final time to be advertised on the Keele Day web pages prior to the event.
To book your free place to attend, and for more information about the day and a full programme of activities, visit the Keele University website.
