On Friday 21 July 2017, we officially opened the Three Counties Open Art Exhibition and for the first time ever, the exhibition is being held at the Burslem School of Art, Stoke-on-Trent. The exhibition showcases artwork from Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire based artists and there are over 200 individual pieces to view.

Burslem School of Art was once the powerhouse in developing world-renowned artistic talent within the Potteries with notable alumni including Arthur Berry, Clarice Cliff and Susie Cooper. The Grade II listed building is in the heart of Burslem, with strong cultural connections and development opportunities. We are excited to be working in partnership with the Burslem School of Art Trust, Barewall and City Learning Trust.

The exhibition was officially opened by Dr Tim Lustig, Head of School of Humanities, Keele University. Speeches were presented by Ruth Smeeth, MP for Stoke North, Cllr Abi Brown, Deputy leader of the city council and Chair of the bid for City of Culture 2021 and Joan Walley, Patron of Haywood Sixth Form.

• Arts Department Prize - Barbara Barlow 'Giraffes'

The exhibition will be on display at the Burslem School of Art until 31 August. There is also the opportunity to purchase the displayed artwork. (Exhibition is open Tuesday- Sat 10am-4pm and Monday 28 August).
