The Roy Fisher Prize for poetry is a pamphlet competition, endowed by Carol Ann Duffy and named in honour of Midlands poet Roy Fisher. From 2017, it is run in association with Flarestack, a poetry pamphlet publisher. The prize is the editing and publishing of a pamphlet by our partners at Flarestack.
Call for Submissions:
This year, we are calling for submissions of a 10-poem sample of work by poets resident in Staffordshire, including Keele students and staff.
Your submission should be:
1. 10 poems in a Word Format document. Your name should not appear on the document.
3. The poems should be your original work, and not previously published in book or pamphlet form.
4. Received no later than Friday 15th December 2017
A judging panel of James Sheard, Flarestack Editors and an anonymous moderator will compile a shortlist of no more than 4 from the submissions. The shortlisted poets will be invited to submit (immediately) a full pamphlet manuscript for final consideration, and the winner will be selected from those submissions.
The Shortlist will be announced on or before January 10th 2018.
The Winner will be announced on January 31st.
There will be a launch of the winning pamphlet on 30th April.
