The call for proposals for ‘Stoking Curiosity’ is now open. Stoking Curiosity is a festival aiming to celebrate being inquisitive, encourage curiosity, and spark ideas, bringing together people from across Staffordshire to get involved in research and debate the big issues that affect them, their communities and the wider world. Stoking Curiosity will build and nurture a community of curious people.
The festival will have something for everyone: the call is open to all staff and students at Keele. It also being sent out to our local communities, voluntary organisations and groups, businesses. The festival will be a space to meet up, ask and debate questions about the world, about life - about anything at all!
The festival will be held on 16 and 17 November 2018 at Spode Works, Elenora Street, Stoke.
If you can encourage curiosity in others, get them interested and excited about things you know and care about, and you are prepared to have a conversation or run an activity about it - then the festival organisers want to hear from you. You might have an idea to share, a burning question to ask, or a hands-on activity for people to take part in. You might deliver a 6-minute talk on what makes you curious, what you are curious about, followed by a group conversation, or bring an interactive exhibit, installation, workshop or performance.
The call for proposals form is here.
If you have more questions about being curious, email Lotika Singha, Public Engagement with Research Fellow, Claus Moser Research Centre.
The call closes on 5 October 2018.
