CONDUCTOR ROLE DESCRIPTION - Orchestra
Keele University Philharmonic Orchestra is a student led, Student Union and University supported society made up of both Keele University students and local community members. The primary aims of the Orchestra have been to support the student experience and to give both students and local community members an opportunity to participate in music performing. Members of the orchestra participate for pleasure outside of their day-to-day education and work. Most members have achieved at least grade 6 (most are 7/8) however there are no strict requirements. At present, the orchestra is looking to rejuvenate both its membership and performance opportunities post-pandemic. Currently students from the orchestra are standing in as conductors so they are looking to fill the role of Orchestra Conductor.
The Orchestra rehearses weekly during term time on Thursday evenings.
The contract will be on a casual basis for review per academic year. There will be an initial paid trial period.
DEADLINE FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST IN THE ROLE: Friday 16 September, midday.
