Reginald Haggar: The Man and his Work
Online Lecture
Presentations about the artist, designer, lecturer and writer Reginald Haggar (1905-88) focusing on his life and work in the Potteries.
This 2020 annual event from the Reginald Haggar Lecture Fund is an online presentation in collaboration with Keele University featuring talks by curators, colleagues and friends of Reginald & Dorothy Haggar. Talks focus on many areas of Haggar's work, including as an artist and designer, recorder of Potteries landscape and heritage, pioneering researcher and author on the Mason Family and factories, teacher and lecturer. Talks are illustrated with Haggar's works and supported by archive film of the Potteries and interviews with Haggar himself kindly made available by Ray Johnson and the Staffordshire Film Archive.
We hope to include a live Q&A with friends and colleagues of the Haggars to follow the presentation. This will focus on Reginald's work as a teacher and lecturer, on his relationship with the Workers Educational Association (WEA) and the Wedgwood Memorial College and on the Haggars' lives and friendships.
The event is online only, you to receive instructions and a link to the Microsoft Teams event on the day by email.
