Wild Pickle

Foraging Walk

Foraging Walk with Wild Pickle.
Meeting at Union Square, Keele University campus.
Sunday 21 April 2024, 1:30 & 3:15pm. Pre-book your space, see link below.

Emma Cronin from Wild Pickle will take you on an easy family walk to show you what wonderful edible wild foods we have available in abundance to us, and how to look after those plants so they continue to look after us at Keele. If you joined Emma on the foraging walks as part of the Kidsgrove Canal Nature Recovery walk series, you know this is not one to be missed!

Emma from Wild Pickle found fermenting and foraging were ways to create and preserve tasty and nutritious foods for her and her daughter 13 years ago. She runs workshops to share her love of fermentation and what we can forage safely and easily.

There are two sessions for this walk: 12.30pm and 3.15pm. You might also be interested in the Pollinator walk with Andrea Ku on Saturday. You can find the link to book onto that one in the What on Earth?! Eventbrite collection.

The event takes place in Keele Woods. Meet the walk leader in Union Square, which is outside of the Students’ Union, number 8 on this campus map.

NB: this activity may be subject to change depending on the weather. If in doubt, please check in to the Appetite HQ gazebo based in Union Square. The event is suitable for all ages but children must be accompanied by an adult. You will need good mobility to join the walks as the ground may be uneven and possibly muddy, so make sure to wear appropriate shoes.
