Professor William Parry-Smith Inaugural Lecture: 'Levelling up Women's Healthcare'

Professor Parry-Smith has an interest in global health having worked on research projects in Nepal and Malawi, focusing on cervical screening and maternal sepsis. He has previously worked as a research fellow at the Birmingham University WHO collaborating centre for global women’s health.

Professor Parry-Smith continues to collaborate with colleagues on post-partum haemorrhage, maternal sepsis and maternity digital health solutions research in the UK and internationally.

Professor Parry-Smith sits on the NIHR Midlands Patient Safety Research Collaboration Board and is the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists council representative for the West Midlands. He leads the implementation team for the NIHR funded Obstetric Bleeding Study UK.

Clinically Professor Parry-Smith has a special interest in gynaecological oncology, robotic surgery, colposcopy and intrapartum care. His clinical work covers all aspects of general gynaecology and obstetric acute care.
