Poetry Busk

The ‘100Books in a 100Years’ project will be hosting a ‘Poetry Busk’ on Friday March 21st, 2025, 12pm-4pm at Newcastle Library supported by the Keele Key Fund.
Celebrating World Poetry Day, and its theme of Poetry for peace and unity, the Poetry Busk will bring together a whole host of poets, be them published, hobbyist, students, readers, and appreciators. The aim is to perform 4 hours of rolling poetry for free to an audience who can stay as long as they like. It’s also an opportunity to perform alongside Poetry Busk hosts - Staffordshire Poet laureate and Keele alumni Scarlett Ward – who set up the Stafford-based poetry publisher Fawn Press, the award-winning Penkhull-born poet Natalie Linh Bolderston, and centenary poet laureate Nick Degg who will close the busk with a 30 minute performance from 3.30pm.
