Lost property
Have you checked the following places in case your belongings been found and handed in:
- University Reception - Denise Coates Foundation Building (IC6)
- Students' Union Reception
- Sports Centre Reception
- Library
- The Reception or School Office of the building where you last had the item.
Before you enquire
We store found items for a maximum of 3 months. If you have lost something earlier than this, it may no longer be available.
Credit and debit cards
We do not keep credit or debit cards - these are securely destroyed when found.
If cards are lost inside other property, such as wallets and purses, we recommend that you contact your bank immediately to report the loss and arrange a replacement.
Hazardous, objectionable or perishable items
We do not keep lighters, e-cigarettes, foodstuffs, soiled clothing, highly flammable substances or other items that may be hazardous to store.
Reclaiming your property
Once we have confirmed that we have found your property, we will let you know where to go so you can reclaim it. Items may be collected from the location during their published opening times only or couriered to you for an additional cost.
When you collect your property, you will be asked for a description of the item/s. You will also be asked to sign to confirm you have received your property. Your details will be retained on our records for 3 months after you have collected your property in case of disputed ownership.
Reasonable care will be taken to ensure the property is handed over to the rightful owner. However, Keele University does not accept liability for any errors or omissions.
Unclaimed items
Items which remain unclaimed after 3 months from the date of loss will be removed from the Campus. We remove and securely destroy any personal data. Unclaimed property is donated to charity, recycled or disposed of.
