Keele University ranked in European Top 100
Keele University has been named as one of the top 100 universities in Europe in the Times Higher Education Europe Teaching Rankings 2018.
The teaching-led ranking of European universities strives to uncover richer and deeper insights into global higher education, with indicators focused around four core performance pillars: resources, engagement, outcomes and environment.
At the heart of the results is the THE’s European Student Survey, which examined a range of key issues including students’ engagement with their studies, their interaction with teachers, the quality of services at the institution and their opportunities to develop skills which help prepare them for a career after university.
Keele University scored exceptionally well across the survey, particularly in questions related to opportunities for social engagement, and access to learning materials.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Trevor McMillan commented:
“Teaching excellence is something that we really pride ourselves on at Keele, and we’re all delighted to see this external recognition of our approach as being one of the best in Europe.
“This significant achievement is thanks to all of our dedicated staff, who we know go above and beyond to make the student experience at Keele the best that it can be, striving to ensure that every student who comes to Keele is fully engaged and supported during their time here, and leaves as a highly skilled, employable graduate.”
The European rankings follow recent international league table success, with Keele being included in the Global Top 100 ‘Golden Age’ universities. Keele also continues to perform well in the UK, including The Guardian University Guide 2019.
