Keele Business School to move into new multi-million pound facility
Keele University’s Business School is set to move into its new state-of-the-art facility at the entrance to the campus, creating a world-class learning experience for students and delivering a cutting-edge research environment.
Building on the University’s 70 years of experience, Keele has created a new teaching and learning space for students alongside a modern research facility, to support the growth of its established programmes.
The three-storey landmark development has an open layout which aims to enable students and staff to build networks and teamwork effectively, and contribute to the University’s recognised position nationally and internationally for teaching quality, student satisfaction, and graduate employability.
The new facility will be home to Keele’s accounting, business management, economics, finance, Human Resource Management, international business, management and marketing students, and includes a 220-seat lecture theatre, a ‘think lab’ study space, data laboratory, cafe and a business lounge to work alongside business and industry partners.
The school also has a Bloomberg Financial Market Trading suite which utilises the Bloomberg platform used by leading global investment banks across the world, providing a state-of-the-art teaching and research resource for students, staff and researchers.
Keele’s Business Studies course recently celebrated being ranked in the Top 10 for overall student satisfaction in the 2019 National Student Survey (NSS), cementing its commitment and dedication to its students.
The new facility will also house the Smart Innovation Hub, a project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which includes office space and support programmes for innovation-led businesses whilst also providing opportunities for students and staff to work collaboratively with entrepreneurs and business owners, gaining invaluable networks and experience.
Professor Kurt Allman, Director of Keele Business School, said: “The new home for Keele Business School will bring students, academics, entrepreneurs, and communities together to tackle commercial opportunities, create new business models, and work on society's most pressing challenges”.
“I’m especially delighted to move into our new home during our 70th anniversary year and further strengthen Keele’s sector-leading student experience, via the provision of state-of-the-art facilities and an innovative learning and teaching environment.”
