Businesses invited to Keele expo shaping the future of healthcare technology

Postgraduate students at Keele University developing the next generations of medical technologies will be showcasing their work at an upcoming expo, with businesses in Staffordshire invited to get involved.
The Keele Clinical, Medical, and Engineering Technologies Symposium, which takes place between 19th and 20th August, will give businesses the chance to learn more about the emerging medical technologies being developed by scientists, including Keele postgraduate students, as well as the future opportunities the healthcare market presents across different sectors including legal, property, distribution, and manufacturing.
The free two-day conference, organised by Dr Peter Ogrodnik and Dr Nicholas Wragg, will be held in Innovation Centre 7 on Keele’s Science and Innovation Park, with a range of talks, presentations, and networking opportunities to help businesses make the most of the opportunities the healthcare technology industry can create.
Peter Ogrodnik, Senior Lecturer in Medical Devices Design, said: "Healthcare is more than just patients and treatments; it is the software for management and analysis, buildings for research and manufacturing, knowledge transfer, problem identification, materials and design, and above all communication.
"Bringing together potential stakeholders, such as existing industry, new ventures, and facilitators (estate agents, marketing partners and public engagement specialists) is essential to successfully growing the field. At Keele's CMET symposium, our students can showcase their cutting-edge research and skills to these stakeholders."
The two-day itinerary will consist of a showcase where students will present their projects and proposals on day one, and a conference on day two.
