Top five for Geography in the UK in NSS 2024
Geography courses at Keele have been ranked among the best in the country for student positivity, according to the latest National Student Survey (NSS).
The courses were rated number four in the UK, up from 12th position last year, with 90 per cent of students responding positively. The course also scored highly - 95.8 per cent - for 'academic support' and 'organisation and management'.
The annual National Student Survey is one of its largest exercises of its kind in the world, with almost 346,000 final year students in the UK taking time to answer questions on their university experience. The 2024 edition of the survey posed 26 core questions on issues including academic experience, teaching and assessments, and well-being services.
Professor Clare Holdsworth, Head of the School of Geography, Geology and Environment, said: "We are delighted with the NSS score for our geography programmes. These results demonstrate how geography students at Keele highly value the support they receive from their lectures and academic mentors to ensure an outstanding learning experience.
"This result has been achieved by the hard work and dedication of all staff in the School of Geography, Geology and the Environment."
Seven other subjects at Keele secured top 10 rankings in the survey, including human resource management, chemistry, mental health nursing, media studies, mathematics, midwifery and human biology.
