Students praise teaching as Midwifery ranks in UK Top 10 in NSS 2024
Keele has been ranked among the best places in the country by students to study Midwifery after ranking in the UK Top 10 for student positivity in the latest National Student Survey (NSS).
Midwifery at Keele was rated 9th in the UK, with students praising the quality of teaching on the course in particular, scoring an impressive 98.2% positivity in the “teaching on my course” question.
The annual National Student Survey is one of the largest exercises of its kind in the world, with almost 346,000 final year students in the UK taking time to answer questions on their university experience. The 2024 edition of the survey posed 26 core questions on issues including academic experience, teaching and assessments, and well-being services.
Head of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Professor Julie Green, said: “Yet again our Midwifery team has achieved exemplary scores in the NSS. Our Midwifery lecturers are inspirational, dedicated and support our students to have a great experience on the programme.
“We also have excellent support from our clinical partners who, in partnership with the team, provide a great placement experience. We are proud of their consistently high NSS scores.”
Seven other subjects at Keele secured top 10 rankings in the survey, including Mental Health Nursing ranking 5th in the UK.
