Keele launches new partnership with prominent Lithuanian university
Keele signed a new partnership with a prominent university in Lithuania this week which will see both universities work together to create new opportunities for students.
Delegates from Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) visited campus to sign a contract for a new Dual Award pathway.
This pathway will enable students on Keele's MSc Biodiversity & Conservation to enter VMU's MSc Ecology and Climate Change with advanced standing. Completing a joint dissertation project, students will graduate with MSc degrees from both Keele and VMU.
Professor Anna Meredith OBE, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences signed the contract for Keele, while Professor Saulius Mickevicius, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, VMU, signed for VMU.
Professor Deirdre McKay from Keele’s School of Geography, Geology and the Environment, said: “Students will benefit from amazing opportunities with this partnership. Lithuania is the best country in the world for student experience according to the Guardian, and students will obtain both a UK and a European MSc.
“Biodiversity and Conservation is a growth area in our sustainability transition. Our Dual Award graduates will gain a broad background in ecology, international experience, and cross-cultural skills, all key to future employability.”
