New concert season set to launch at Keele University
Talented musicians from across the UK will be performing inside the Chapel at Keele University in a series of concerts.
The line-up for the new season of Keele Concerts has been unveiled, with internationally acclaimed violinist Harriet Mackenzie and the Celoniatus string quintet presenting Angels and Devils by candlelight at the opening night on Wednesday, October 30th.
Organised by ArtsKeele, a further two concerts are scheduled to take place before the end of the year. On Wednesday, November 13 celebrated pianist and composer Gwilym Simcock and rising star saxophonist and composer Emma Rawicz will be performing music from their upcoming duo release including original works and arrangements of a variety of other music from the Great American Songbook to Stevie Wonder. Then on Thursday, December 12 the Chapel will welcome vocal group Papagena for a concert by candlelight, with The Darkest Midnight providing a sublime collection of songs for winter from the Middle Ages to the modern era.
A further four concerts will be held in the Chapel in early 2025, with the full schedule available at www.keele.ac.uk/artskeele/whatson/music
