Keele researcher named as new NIHR Senior Investigator

A researcher from Keele’s School of Medicine is among the new cohort of academics granted Senior Investigator status by a prominent research body.
Professor Carolyn Chew-Graham OBE has been named among the National Institute for Health and Care Research’s (NIHR) 18th cohort of Senior Investigators, which catalogues a list of outstanding leaders from across social care, public health, methodology, pharmacy, dentistry, and clinical research in the UK.
Senior Investigators are leading experts in their fields, recognised for their exceptional contributions to research and their influence in shaping the future of health and care. They receive funding to support their research activities while undertaking a senior leadership role for the NIHR.
Professor Chew-Graham, a Professor of General Practice Research at Keele and a practising GP, has been added to the directory for her extensive work in Primary Health Care, and will hold the title of Senior Investigator for four years.
Professor Chew-Graham said: “I am delighted to receive this award which will enable me to support members of my team to attend key conferences, facilitate making links and holding meetings with community organisations, and, if necessary, bridge researchers when we are between grant funding.”
