Biography

Poppy qualified as a Physiotherapist from Keele University in 2002. She began her career at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust, where she completed her core rotations. In 2005 she moved to the Haywood Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent and commenced a post in neurological rehabilitation. In 2011, Poppy completed her master’s degree in Neurological Rehabilitation at Keele University. Poppy worked at the Haywood Hospital until 2020, when she commenced her lecturing post at Keele University. Poppy has a specialist interest in neuromuscular electrical stimulation, stroke rehabilitation, major trauma rehabilitation and functional neurological disorder.

Poppy is a part-time lecturer at Keele University and alongside this role, she works as an Advanced Neurological Physiotherapist in private practice.

Poppy is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology (ACPIN). 

Teaching

Poppy teaches across the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Physiotherapy programmes.
