Foundation Year at Keele
Studying a foundation year offers an alternative route to Keele. That extra year of study can improve your academic skills, expand your subject knowledge and, perhaps most important of all, build your confidence.
Welcome to Foundation Year
Simon Rimmington - Director of Foundation Year
Congratulations to all those who have received an offer to complete a Foundation Year at Keele University, this is a fantastic achievement! Our Foundation Year provides an excellent route for all our undergraduate degree programmes, for which you will have guaranteed entry on meeting the progression requirements for your chosen degree course.
You will be fully integrated into university life and the welcoming student community, with access to a large range of student clubs and societies.
Our Foundation Year team are friendly and supportive, and we use a wide range of teaching strategies to help you develop your subject knowledge and reach your full potential. You will study a curriculum that has been developed and designed by subject experts within the Foundation Year and the wider University academic community.
We aim to smooth your transition to degree-level study by supporting you in becoming independent learners who can explore and reflect on the development of your academic skills, enabling you to build your confidence.
We also offer a January start for some of our Foundation Year courses. Adopting a blended learning approach, the January start is particularly useful for students wishing to return to education following time out of studying, or who are seeking a flexible approach to their Foundation Year studies
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to the Foundation Year and hope you will make the most of your time here.
