Welcome to the School of Allied Health Professions! Whether you are planning to pursue your career in Physiotherapy, join the exciting world of Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging), study on our innovative Rehabilitation and Exercise Science programme, accelerate your career in Prosthetics and Orthotics, Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy (currently subject to validation, with an intended start date of Sept 2024), our School has what you need!

Overview of the school, ethos and specialisms

Our programmes will provide you with an exceptional breadth of theoretical knowledge, practical experience and skills to enable you to deliver high quality client-centred services in employment on graduation. Our courses are designed to reflect healthcare in the 21st century, enabling you to play your part in meeting health and social care needs now and in the future. You will also be able to develop your own careers in patient care and/or research.

Being able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team is key to success, and we start that from early on in the School, where we educate Rehabilitation/Exercise Scientists, Physiotherapists, Diagnostic Imaging Radiographers, Prosthetists/Orthotists and Occupational Therapists from pre-registration to doctoral level study. In the wider Faculty you may also engage in learning with those studying to become Medical Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Social workers, Counsellors, and Health Care Scientists.

We hope that your time at Keele will be rewarding and enjoyable, but we know that life can be challenging at times. Our team of 70 academic staff, clinical experts, scholars and researchers, are recognised internationally as experts in their fields and supportive. We commit to fully supporting all of our students on your learning journey. As such, there are many University and School services that you can access while you study with us. These include a named School academic mentor, student mentors, Student Experience and Support Officers Learning Support Tutors to help with any Disability or Inclusion  concerns, Language Centre experts, colleagues in Advice for Students at Keele (ASK), and a Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic, all available to you.

Our School ethos is one of inclusivity and respect for everyone; we consider you as our students to be our future colleagues.
