Alisha J Zaman
1999-2020
Keele Student (2017-20)
"The true worth of one is warmly treasured, when one is long gone, yet fondly honoured."
Alisha's family kindly set up the Alisha Zaman Memorial Prize in her memory.
An apple tree (Granny Smith – being her favourite) was planted in the Keele University Memorial Garden (on 21 October 2020) in her memory by her family, friends and the university following her memorial service there attended by many. She was a student of biological sciences at Keele (2017-2020) when she sadly passed away, aged 21.
She was a Student Ambassador, Class Voice Representative, and International Social Media Coordinator in which capacities she helped students and represented the university at her level best. She was much loved by many and admired for her devotion to her fellow students' welfare in her various engagements at Keele during her time here as a student.
She loved nature and was kind to vulnerable animals, hence the memorial tree plaque starts with the quote “BE KIND TO EVERYTHING THAT LIVES”, reflecting her own philosophy of life, and it reads on “IN LOVING MEMORY OF ALISHA J. ZAMAN, BSc BIOLOGY (posthumous) (1999-2020) FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS – FAMILY & FRIENDS.
