Sato-zakura Group
Trade name - Chocolate Ice. Raised/selected by Masatoshi Asari in Hokkaido, Northern Japan and introduced to th UK in 2000. Large single to semi-double flowers, white with a faint pink flush. Eventually forms an umbrella-shaped tree. Young foliage is a deep bronze.
Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit 2012.

- One specimen by the ring-road; square N5, tag 4146. Planted in 2002.
- One opposite the running track; square 56k; tag 4111. Planted in 2009.
