Sato-zakura Group
Selected and raised by Mr Masatoshi Asari in Matsumae at the southern tip of Hokkaido, Northern Japan in 1970 from hybridizing P. ‘Minakama’ with P. ‘Kechimiyaku-zakura’.
Pale pink double flowers opening white and flat from purplish pink buds.
Another very beautiful but very slow growing cherry that will not be commercially viable.

- One specimen near old university entrance; square N2; tag 4124. Planted in 2009.
