Wall Lasiommata megera
The adults can be found in a range of habitats from May to June and again from August to September. They particularly like short turf where there are breaks of slope where they can sit in the sunshine.
It is an uncommon species in Staffordshire but numbers have been increasing recently. In 2023 up to 7 were noted by the solar farm.
The larvae feed on various grasses.
