November 7th : Buzzard searching for worms in a field by Lymes Road and a Grey Shoulder-knot moth on a Ash trunk opposite Drive Lodge DWE.

November 2nd : 5 Meadow Pipits and a Buzzard on Phase 3 DWE, JAL.

October 26th : 20 Meadow Pipits and a Snipe on Phase 3 JAL.

October 9th : female/juvenile Stonechat on the Phase 3 area JAL.

October 5th : a Chiffchaff in the Walled Garden DWE.

October 4th : a Snipe and two Chiffchaffs and several Meadow Pipits on Phase 3 and a new plant for Keele by the Sustainability Hub - Hedgerow Cranesbill DWE, JAL.

September 11th : new plant for Keele Prickly Lettuce was growing on disturbed ground by the Chapel. It's common these days in towns and on verges DWE.

August 29th : following a torrential downpour a Swift flew over campus DWE.

August 17th : two juvenile Willow Warblers and a Chiffchaff in the Walled Garden DWE.

July 24th : 4 Emperor Dragonflies and a mass of Common Blue Damselflies on the Phase 3 lakes. Even more exciting was an Ibis that circled over Home Farm. It was very distant but an Ibis nevertheless. As to which species it's hard to be sure but all things point to Bald Ibis, an escaped one of which has been seen recently in the Manchester area DWE.

July 23rd: An Essex Skipper along Clock House Drive was a new butterfly for the campus DWE.

July 22nd : a Hobby circled over Drive Lodge MS.

July 18th : Another new moth for Keele - a Blackneck; Blackcap singing in the Walled Garden DWE.

July 17th : a new moth for Keele Beautiful Snout; more typical of heathy woods with Bilberry so may have flown over from Hanchurch DWE.

May 29th : Large Red Damselfly and Blue-tailed Damselfly around the lakes on the Phase 3 site. Also Willow Warbler, Blackcap and Garden Warbler singing. DWE, JAL.

May 25th : two Yellow Wagtails and a Yellowhammer along Lymes Road DWE, JAL.

May 22nd : Garden Warbler, Whitethroat, Blackcap and Chiffchaff along Clockhouse Drive DWE.

May 14th : a Garden Warbler has taken up territory in the Walled Garden along with a Blackcap DWE.

May 10th : Yellow Wagtail, Lesser Whitethroat and Spotted Flycatcher (a scarce bird at Keele) along Lymes Road MS.

May 9th : Lesser Whitethroat and 3 Yellowhammers along Lymes Road NDP.

May 2nd : the Wheatear was still along Lymes Road as was a Whitethroat MS; a pair of Tufted Ducks on lake 1 Stu McBain.

April 30th : a Wheatear was seen along Lymes Road Debbie Knight.

April 28th : Peregrine over Drive Lodge and Swift too MS.

April 22nd : 3 Shelducks flew over Clock House Drive - a new species for Keele; 2 Curlews by Lymes Road and a Green Woodpecker by Drive Lodge MS.

March 27th : Chiffchaffs well distributed; Blackcap singing behind the Clock House DWE.

March 22nd : Chiffchaff singing in Church Plantation DWE.

March 6th : 2 pairs of Little Grebes on the top Lake plus a Coot. A pair of Ravens was displaying over central campus DWE.

March 1st : 8 Buzzards seen over Springpool Wood Jane Wallace.

February 1st : 6 Moorhens, 2 Little Grebes, 10 Mallard and a Coot on the top lake which was half frozen DWE.

January 14th : two Mute Swans flew over Drive Lodge and 170 Golden Plover along Lymes Road MS.

January 8th : The juvenile Iceland Gull that had been frequenting the rubbish tip at the foot of Keele Bank was finally seen over Drive Lodge so can now be added to the Campus list. There were also 6 Bramblings by Drive Lodge too MS.
