December 10 :  first sighting of a Barn Owl since last winter MS.

December 8 : 1 (prob 3) Hawfinches over Keele Hall MS.

November 30 : a Waxwing flying over campus, calling. Early morning MS.

November 16 : highlights of a walk around campus included 5 Jack Snipes, 4 Stonechats and a Peregrine MS.

August : three species of orthoptera were added to the Keele list by David Green at the Solar Farm; the Lesser Marsh Grasshopper and 2 crickets - Long-winged Cone-head and Roesel's Bush Cricket. All three species are spreading rapidly across our county. Also there were 7 sightings of Wall butterfly there. An uncommon species in Staffordshire.

March 12 : Two Barn Owls on campus MS.

March 11 : first Lapwings of the year sighted MS.

January 16 : Barn Owl was seen hunting MS.

January 15 : roosting Barn Owl found MS.

January 13/14 : Stuart McBaine reported seeing a Barn Owl.

January 1 : a New Year hunt resulted in 50 species. The undoubted highlight was an incredible 6 Jack Snipes, there are only has 3 previous records - all of single birds MS.
