Keele University supports care home training company
Stoke-on-Trent-based The Care Training Company has received support from Keele University’s Business Gateway.
Earlier this year The Care Training Company participated in the Business Bridge programme for the filming and production of a series of e-training videos with experienced School staff able to feedback and provide expert consultancy to ensure that the video content is accurate, relevant and of use to the intended audience. Since taking part in the Business Bridge programme* the company has turned to the Business Gateway for further support from the Keele Research and Innovation support Programme (KRISP)*.
The company is focused on providing quality training to carers and clinicians to ensure that patients receive the best possible treatment and service from those looking after them.
The KRISP project supplied additional support such as business advisors, academics and two students to work for the company as Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) associates. Students produced a media package to be used in the marketing of their training products, including their verification of expected death campaign, which focuses on end of life care between the patient and staff.
Company owner, Jenna Lloyd, commented: ”Face-to-face training has huge benefits, however working as a full-time nurse I understand that this is not always practical and cost-effective. Through the support from Keele University’s Business Gateway, I have developed five training products, each with e-learning, video demonstrations, online assessments and live chats, with more training products in the pipeline.
“I couldn’t praise Keele University enough. The support and intel has been a huge benefit to the company, not only for product development but also the funding and networking opportunities. As the company builds on the outcomes from the training and creates a larger training library and continues the ongoing relationship with Keele, I am looking forward to what can be achieved in 2019.”
Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent businesses can benefit from a range of specialist support and funding, more details of which are available through Keele University’s Business Gateway on 01782 733001 or by emailing business.gateway@keele.ac.uk.
