Powelectrics of Tamworth is working with Keele University through the Smart Energy Network Demonstrator (SEND)* programme to develop improved data monitoring for the new generation of smart energy networks

Powelectrics was the first Staffordshire business to sign up to Keele University’s SEND Research, Development and Innovation programme.  With over 25 years of experience, Powelectrics specialises in telemetry solutions connecting thousands of different sensors used in a broad range of industries.  The company develops and supplies technology that interfaces to sensors in industrial environments and communicates the readings allowing the data to be viewed remotely through web portals and trigger alarms if required.  Powelectrics have identified a need for user-configurable dashboards that summarise and visualise this sensor data.

Keele University is at the forefront of smart energy networks and through its SEND programme is seeking further partners from across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent who want to develop a broad range of new products and services for smart energy networks.  Companies benefit from a full-time person for research, development and innovation for three years as well as access to the University’s smart network, the expertise of University specialists and other SEND partners.
