Keele Internships provides skills and experience for promising student start-up
A Keele University student has started his own digital marketing business, after being inspired whilst participating in Keele Internships.
Ajay Jani, the founder of SociApex, has just completed the second year of his Business Management degree at the Keele Business School and, during that time, has taken part in Santander-funded internships.
Speaking about his experience of Keele Internships, Ajay said: “My internships have been within different sectors, which has exposed me to a wide range of different marketing challenges to overcome. Having this experience at such an early stage in my career has opened my eyes to the typical social media, content and website marketing needs faced by businesses.
“I would 100% recommend the internships programme to students and graduates alike, especially those who are looking to kick-start their career or who are thinking about starting their own business. It is very gratifying to have an end product that the company can go away with and use, whilst also building your own personal profile and portfolio of work in the process.
“I am looking forward to continuing my studies next year whilst growing my business, using the skills I have learned and putting them into practice both through the internship roles and SociApex.
“Keele University Business Gateway has helped me to connect and build relationships with organisations, many of whom are now clients of SociApex. The University has also helped me to link in with business support organisations in the area such as Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce and the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Enterprise Partnership.
“I would love to take on an intern myself in the future, bringing the programme full circle and providing a student or graduate with the same great experience that my internships gave me”.
