Grant awarded to Dr Helen Price to study disease in camels
Dr Helen Price, Lecturer in the School of Life Sciences & researcher at Keele's Centre for Applied Entomology and Parasitology, together with Professor Somaia Abou-Akkada from Alexandria Vet School, Egypt, has been awarded a Newton Fund grant of £274,000.
The grant will fund a two-year project on the Surra disease found in camels, to be conducted with partner Professor Paul Horrocks. Keele will receive about £170,000, while the Veterinary School in Alexandria, Egypt, will receive the remaining funds. The project aims to build research links between the two institutes.
