CAEP director discusses novel genetic vector control approaches with Burkina Faso's Minister of Scientific Research Education and Innovation
Prof. Tripet from Keele's Centre for Applied Entomology and Parasitology (CAEP) recently met with Burkina Faso's Minister of Scientific Research Education and Innovation to discuss new advances in the field of genetic vector control for disease mitigation.
Also present at the meeting were the Directors of the Centre National for Research in Sciences and Technology (CNRST), the Institute for Research in Health Sciences (IRSS), and representatives from the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), National Institutes of Health Foundation (FNIH), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Target Malaria Consortium, and the Universities of Sao Paulo and Maryland.
The discussions followed a very successful 3rd edition of Annual Meeting of the Pan African Mosquito Control Association, held October 16-18th in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Prof, Tripet, who is the director of CAEP, represented the research centre at this meeting.
