British Army - Adjutant Generals Corps (AGC) Information Session

Soldiers and Officers who work in HR, Support & Finance play a key role in keeping the Army in perfect working order. They have the opportunity to earn qualifications, such as becoming an Chartered Accountant.

The Adjutant General's Corps is one of the largest Corps in the British Army, with four branches, providing support with roles such as Military Personnel Administrators (MPA), Military Police (MP), Educational and Training Services, Army Legal Services and more.

Join this session to find out more about what opportunities the Adjutant General's Corps has to offer.

Education and Training Support (ETS)

“The ETS’s three main roles are the delivery of military education, the design of military training, and developing the cultural and linguistic requirements of the Army. Officers teach Soldiers in the UK as well as educating troops from allied forces. They ensure the development of Soldiers throughout their career and ensure the British Army’s reputation for training remains world-leading.

Officers and Soldiers of the AGC offer support to The Army in many forms, from training and administration, to personnel support to policing.

The ETS is a branch of the Adjutant General’s Corps, also containing the SPS, RMP, MPS, ALS and MPGS. Each Branch of the Corps is supported by the others but each has its own regimental role, traditions and ethos.”

Royal Military Police (RMP)

“As an Officer in the Royal Military Police (RMP) you are both a British Army Officer and a Police Officer. You command a highly skilled platoon of Military Police Soldiers and support the wider Army, exercising throughout the UK and abroad, as well as deploying on operations all over the world.

Whether you’re overseas or at home, you’ll conduct complex investigations, using your outstanding training. Specialist courses in Serious Crime Investigations and Close Protection expand your knowledge, along with civilian qualifications. With new challenges every day, it’s a fascinating and varied role.”

Staff and Personnel Support (SPS)

”As a Detachment Commander, you can be posted to any regiment in the British Army, be that at home or overseas. You will lead a Detachment of 10-20 AGC(SPS) soldiers. Your responsibilities include the training and development of your soldiers, leading them on exercises and operations and managing their careers. You will also provide critical enabling support to your Regiment. Whether through the delivery of operations, command and information support, or the delivery of personnel administration, your input will be critical to mission success.

The SPS (Staff and Personnel Support) Branch ensures that the British Army’s people are ready to deploy at a moment’s notice by managing its people, finances and information. We are soldiers first, and serve alongside every unit in the Army; wherever the Army goes, we are there too.”
