Careers information
Within Careers and Employability Support you have access to members of staff ready to provide help.
You can get in touch by emailing careers@keele.ac.uk or book an appointment. You can also review online resources on Keele Careers Online.
Guidance and advice
Short appointments are your best way to initially see a Careers Adviser. These one to one 20 minute sessions are available on a frequent basis allowing you to start your career planning and move forward. The session will cover whatever you need it to. Sessions commonly explore:
- What career options are open to me?
- What career would I be suited to?
- How do I secure work experience?
- What skills are employers looking for?
- Is my CV fit for purpose?
- How do I apply for postgraduate courses?
- What do I do to prepare for an interview?
- How do I equip myself for assessment centres?

A limited number of longer guidance interviews are available to students if additional time is needed to follow on from issues arising at the session.
Careers e-guidance is available for queries and for support such as CV checks and application form advice. Email careers@keele.ac.uk to access this service.

Vacancy guidelines
Careers and Employability at Keele University aims to place vacancy adverts that are accurate and as up-to-date as possible. All information is given in good faith based on the information provided by the employer to Careers and Employability. Job seekers must confirm for themselves that this information is accurate.
We make all reasonable efforts to ensure vacancies advertised by Careers and Employability are in accordance with discrimination legislation, including those relating to gender, age, race, disability, religion and gender orientation.
Students and graduates applying to vacancies advertised by Careers and Employability are advised to check with employers all details concerning issues such as salary, hours of work and holidays and request and sign an employment contract.
Careers and Employability will not enter into contracts between employers and students. These must be directly between employers and students.
Students need to think carefully about the advantages and disadvantages of unpaid work experience/internships. Please speak to Careers and Employability if you are unsure about this.
