The project entitled ‘Stories of Public Health through Local Art-Based Community Engagement’ (SOLACE ) brings together a multi-disciplinary team of academics from Keele University and Ateneo de Manila University (The Philippines), artists and health practitioners from the UK and the Philippines along with volunteers and community members from remote, underserved, rural areas in the Philippines.

The exhibition is curated by Professor Mihaela Kelemen and Sue Moffat (New Vic Borderlines) who facilitated community engagement workshops in the Philippines. The creative outputs displayed demonstrate the power of knowledge co-production, Cultural Animation and ethnographic methodologies to break down cultural barriers and dissolve power structures in order to co-create a collective picture of receiving and providing health care in rural areas that resonates with the needs, dreams and aspirations of marginalised communities in the Philippines.
