‘On the Town’: A Local Ambassadors’ Programme
Dr Anita Mangan (CASIC / HUMSS / KMS) has been awarded funding from HEFCE’s Social Innovation Fund to run a practical learning pilot called ‘On the Town’: A Local Ambassadors’ Programme. The pilot project was developed at a recent HEFCE’s Social Innovation Sandpit with colleagues from Loughborough University, Coventry University and Sue Moffat, New Vic Borderlines (and CASIC). The 9 month projects start in March and will include a series of CASIC cultural animation workshops with young members of the community, students and relevant stakeholders, culminating in a Freshers’ Week presence hosted by the Local Ambassadors. Impacts for participants will include knowledge exchange transferable skills around organising, leading, communication and civil engagement.
