Memories of mining
This was attended by Keele staff, students, and non-academic members of the local community.
Supported by CASIC and SEEK-PER, the exhibition showcased photographs, creative writing, interviews and music prompted by a geopoetics (walking and creative practice) workshop in Silverdale Country Park.
Organised by Ceri Morgan (School of Humanities) in November 2016, the workshop aimed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Aberfan Disaster and pay tribute to the local mining community.
Monday’s launch featured readings and a performance, as well as the opportunity to view the exhibition, which will remain in place until Christmas.
