This module covers a wide range of modern spectroscopic and related techniques used for the chemical characterisation of materials and mixtures of chemicals, focusing on methods of structural and elemental analysis, chromatography and mass spectrometry. It also provides experience of these techniques in the laboratory.
Aims
The aim of the module is that students will use a wide range of modern spectroscopic and related techniques for the chemical characterisation of mixtures of materials, primarily methods of structural and elemental analysis, chromatography and mass spectrometry. It aims to provide experience of the application of these techniques in the laboratory.
