Description for 2022/23

If you have an idea for a new business venture, this module provides you with the time, space and expertise to develop it. You will be offered space within the university's incubator and provided with a range of workshops and advice from experts who have successfully developed new business ventures. You will also have access to a network of entrepreneurs and business advisers to help you to utilise your time to full advantage.
Places are limited on this module and you will be required to undertake an interview prior to acceptance.

Aims
This module aims to introduce students to the processes in new venture development. This will enable them to appreciate and develop skills required to create a new business venture and equip them with relevant and transferable employability skills. Students will have access to Keele's incubator space and support from the Entrepreneurs in Residence and academic staff for a period of 9-15 weeks.

Effectively communicate the planned business venture orally and visually to a specialist and non specialist audience through the creation of a video presentation;: 1,2

Description of Module Assessment

1: Report weighted 50%
Reflective Report
1500-2000 word reflective report which critically evaluates the entrepreneurial activity which has taken place during the module. The report will demonstrate understanding of the challenges to entrepreneurial activity and students will be expected to reflect on their own entrepreneurial knowledge, skills and behaviour.

2: Presentation weighted 50%
15 minute video presentation
Create a 15 minute video presenting the enterprise idea as an investment proposition.
