Description for 2022/23


Aims
This module provides the foundation for developing and supporting personal resilience at the beginning of the MSci Paramedic Science programme and is essential in developing students awareness of personal mental health, public health and resilience. The challenges of full-time study, wellbeing and resilience, and the contribution of human factors on the individual will be core themes throughout the programme, therefore, this module will assist students in developing coping strategies to support resilience in studying the programme.

Description of Module Assessment

1: Presentation weighted 100%
15 minute individual presentation and 5 minutes questioning
Students have 15 minutes to deliver an individual presentation that addresses all the intended learning outcomes followed by 5 minutes for questions. Students will present to tutors at a defined time during the module. Students will able to choose a range of presentation methods (e.g. PowerPoint, Prezi) Students are directed to identify key public health priorities specific to the paramedic workforce and the public they serve and how their role can influence health through education, and the initiative of 'Making Every Contact Count'.
