Aims
This module will enable students to: examine the role of epidemiology, public health, inequalities in health, and health and poverty, in the health of individuals and communitiesdevelop an understanding of how health and wellbeing can be positively enabled across a range of settings and circumstances.

56 hours face to face teaching - 30 hours lectures, 15 hours group work, 8 hours seminars, 3 hours group debate4 hour tutorial 240 hours independent study to include time for completion of written assessment and preparation for presentation assessment
Description of Module Assessment
1: Assignment weighted 50%Review of a published research paperA 2000 word assignment which will review a paper published in a peer-reviewed journal that describes a quantitative research project.
2: Exam weighted 50%Epidemiology exam (2 hours)The exam paper will consist of questions that will allow students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the topics covered in the module.
3: Coursework weighted 0%CourseworkStudents will complete coursework throughout the module. The module includes a variety of concepts that the coursework will exam the understanding of.
