Description for 2022/23

This module gives students the opportunity to learn about how psychology has been used to make a difference in the real world. It will give students a flavour of how psychological theory is applied in practice. The lectures will be taken by specialists in the areas and topics may include the application of psychology in the fields of health, education and clinical settings. The module does not assume any prior knowledge of psychology.

Aims
This module aims to provide students with an awareness of how psychological theory and research are applied to different domains of everyday life, e.g. health, education, sports and exercise, neurological disorders, clinical, and forensic life to improve overall human experience.

Description of Module Assessment

1: Case Study weighted 100%
Case studies
At regular intervals, students will be provided with a case study, based on taught topics, and will be asked to apply their knowledge of psychology to provide guidance to the subject of the case study. They will be given 6 case studies; the final one will ask them to reflect on their own career journey in psychology. The word limit for each case study is 300 words per case study.
