This module is an advanced course in Cognitive Psychology. It introduces key articles in the field and develops the students' ability to evaluate and appreciate these important theoretical and empirical research accounts. The key readings presented throughout the course are reviewed and presented alongside related research, subsequent developments and applications in the literature.
Aims
Building upon module PSY-20045 Biological and Cognitive Psychology, this module aims to provide students with a detailed critical understanding of a range of key, influential readings in cognitive psychology and to equip them with the ability to critical evaluate journal articles themselves.

Description of Module Assessment
1: Multiple Choice Questions - Knowledge weighted 20%Continuous AssessmentStudents will sit a continuous assessment of 10 item MCQs on three occasions (10 items each) checking understanding of lecture content. These will be delivered via the KLE. The best two out of the three tests will count towards the module mark.
2: Essay weighted 80%EssayStudents write a 2500 word essay regarding one of the three topics introduced in the module; one from 3 questions to be answered.
