Description for 2022/23


Aims
To develop the students' knowledge and skills in:
identifying and formulating a research design to answer a specific research question, including methods of data/information collection and analysis;
presenting a scientifically and/or clinically coherent justification for a proposed research project;
evaluating the ethical requirements of a proposed research project.

Study hours

30 tutor led hours which may include lectures, workshops, seminars, tutorials and two hours of assessment preparation classes etc.
120 hours of independent study including 20 hours of guided independent study.

Description of Module Assessment

1: Research Proposal weighted 100%
A research project proposal (2000 words)
A research project proposal (2000 words). This piece of work will include a 500 word rationale, preparation of any documents required for ethical approval and/or research governance as well as a plan for dissemination.
