Description for 2022/23

This module further develops to deliver a greater appreciation of the complexity of healthcare considerations and the governance strategise and frameworks which support best outcomes. Students will further develop their understanding by reviewing patient feedback, external reports on healthcare services and evaluating how their own personal practice can help to shape future organisations. Students will be able to apply their knowledge and skills within a multi-professional setting, presenting best practice specific to their profession.
They will be able to begin to analyse their impact within team settings and on improvements and changes with the service user at the centre of their practice.

Aims
An overall aim to further develop the student's understanding of the critical importance of communication and teamwork in the safe and effective delivery of health care. A focus on the impact on radiology services will be maintained through teaching. Inter-disciplinary care delivery problems that have compromised patient safety and experience will be explored throughout, outlining the root cause analysis team approach required in assessment 1 of this module. This involves analysis of a scenario from a practice experience episode, requiring inter-disciplinary actions and resolution/s optimising care delivery options.
Honest an open reflection skills will be showcased.
The ability of radiography students to professionally promote the value of radiology, and education other healthcare professionals will be a key objective of this module. The I.P.E 2 event provides a formal interdisciplinary platform to practice such skills.
