This module introduces professionalism and ethics, communication and writing styles: these are key skills in science and engineering. The module also provides students with important transitional skills needed in their future modules and subsequent careers. We will also provide guidance on employability skills, and advice on working in teams. Delivery of the module will include workshop activities that provide students with opportunities to work individually and in groups.
Aims
To enable students to understand the requirements of professional practice and to support them in the development of confidence and competence in a range of academic and professional skills for study and communication.

Description of Module Assessment
1: Portfolio weighted 100%A portfolio submission including both report and skills components (equivalent of a 3000-4000 word report).Using academic, professional and communications skills, students will be asked to communicate via presentation materials and prepare an individual report. This will be the equivalent of a 3000-4000 word report.
