¿¿¿These sessions will provide opportunities for you to further develop your academic skills in English. Through a series of classes, workshops, assignments and practical tasks, on this¿module ¿you will work on writing, reading, verbal communication skills, research skills and workplace skills, looking at functional language and analysing genres specific to a business context. You will improve and develop transferable academic skills that can help you to succeed not only in this¿module, but also in your other business¿modules¿and future career.¿¿
Aims
To develop academic communication skills in a business context, primarily in writing and reading, with some development of speaking skills and academic English vocabulary and language structures, for use on other KBS modules and in future employment.

Description of Module Assessment
1: Portfolio weighted 70%PortfolioCompletion of four writing tasks, between 100-800 words each, with a total of approximately 1500-words, linked to a research project including a group questionnaire, visual presentation of data, report and business correspondence.
2: Coursework weighted 30%Oral TestStudents will participate in an individual 10-minute interview during which they will be expected to discuss a business-related topic.
