The purpose of this module is to introduce theories around globalisation, international trade and investment and offers insight into a range of economic, political, economic, technological processes that influence and are influenced by international business activities. The module brings together concepts, theories and case studies on various issues of international business context.
Aims
- To develop in-depth knowledge of the global economic, cultural, political and technological conditions that shape the goals and processes of international business activities.- To have a critical and solid understanding of basic theories underlying the importance of international trade and investment.- To be able to apply the theories and background knowledge learned to enhance understanding of current events and their impacts.

Description of Module Assessment
1: Literature Review weighted 60%A literature review on a topic (3,000 words)The students will be required to choose one from a range of topics provided on international business context, carry out a literature survey, and write a literature review.
2: Group Presentation weighted 40%Group presentation on a case studyThe students, in groups of 3-5 members, will choose a case study from a range of cases provided. Students will present their analysis of the case to the class through a 30 minutes' group presentation. Marks on the presentation will be subject to student peer assessment. Specifically, members of a group will receive the same mark in principle; in the cases that some members of the group have made exceptionally significant contribution or have not contributed satisfactorily, according to peer review results, they may receive 5% or more bonus or penalty.
